This first stage of ION coating provides thickness to the product, which is responsible for many protective qualities such as resistance against corrosion and abrasion. It can only be removed with very intesive compounding & polishing

This is the second stage of the ION coating. It activates the ion exchange reaction and provides an unmatched hydrophobic property which provides qualities such as the self-cleaning effect, improved gloss, and many others. Unlike other normal cross-linking ceramic coatings ION Top Coat is a full-bodied coating, which means that it has its own thickness which greatly improves its protective properties. Abrasion resistance
This is a unique feature unavailable in previous generations of nanoceramic protective coatings. As a matter of fact, abrasive damage is the Achilles heel of such coatings. However, ION lacks this weakness, which makes it much more resistant to surface marring.
Density
Density of the coating has a direct relation to the protection it creates to prevent chemical and contaminant etching. Higher density equates to stronger protection. The denisty & solid content contained with Ceramic Pro ION is unlike anything else on the market ever produced.
Hardness
Harness structures the ability of a coating to resist marring and abrasion. For one object to scratch another object, the impacting object must be harder that the surface it is attempting to scratch. High hardness means fewer objects that can damage the coating. Most ceramic coatings, including the previous generation of Ceramic Pro follow the pencil scale of hardness, thus being 9H. ION is harder than 9H, so, its hardness is off the chart on the pencil hardness scale.
Coating Thickness
Is one of the most important properties of a nanoceramic coating. The thicker it is, the more powerful the bonding with the substrate is which equates to stronger contaminant repellency. However, if it’s too thick, it becomes brittle, so a balance is necessary. ION is perfectly balanced: 1 layer of ION Base equals to 2+ layers of any other previously developed ceramic coating.
Hydrophobicity
Hydrophobicity is the result of lowered surface tension after coating application. Hydrophobic properties will repel and reject contaminants and liquids. This effect is created by the presence of newly formed microscopic pores on the surface of the coating.

These tiny pores look like “hairs” which force liquid to stay in a round, spherical shape, thus creating a beading effect. Unlike the “hairs” in 9H technology, ION features structures that look more like tiny pyramids, which makes it substantially more durable.

How to care for your Ceramic Coated Vehicle

  • Do not wash your car with the use of any chemicals for 14 days from the coating application.
  • Only washing using a pH neutral soap, like Auto Surface Protection DRIFT.
  • Do not use brush car washes. Touchless or Hand wash only.
  • Do not let contaminants like bird droppings remain on any surface. You should remove them as soon as possible.
  • Do not expose to acid, caustic chemicals, and any other contaminants that you are aware of.
  • Follow the You Drive = You Care principal. Each Car is subject to a unique life. The harsher the life, the more maintenance it requires.
  • If any damage occurs, Contact your certified detailer, do not try to fix it on your own.
  • Always wash your car once it is cool and out of direct sunlight, never when the car is hot.
  • Wash your vehicle every 2 weeks.
  • Use Ceramic Pro CARE as a topper and drying aid during the wash process.
  • Attend your annual coating maintenance appointment annually to maintain your Ceramic Pro warranty.
