Automotive paint processes have improved to provide a more durable and trouble-free finish than in the past, but with even the best paint systems, problems can occur. Most carmakers only provide warranty coverage for paint for the duration of the basic warranty, which for many vehicles is only 3 years or 60,000 km, whichever comes first.
